There’s alot of talk about new media and old media recently. According to Wikipedia,
New media is a broad neologism usually referring to new technologies and communication methods in the context of their effects on the established mainstream media.
The old media or legacy media are the traditional means of communication and expression that existed before the new media of the Internet. Industries that are generally considered part of the old media are broadcast and cable television, movie and music studios, newspapers, books and most print publications.
Lotta blogs more about the success story of Verdens Gang, the daily that has conquered both forms of media in Norway.

Woh, this just in. The architect of Sony Playstation, Ken Kutaragi, will be stepping down from his position as Chief of Sony Comp. Entertainment. I thought this was rather eminent imminent ever since he was replaced as President sometime last year by Kazuo Hirai. Kazuo now takes over as group CEO.
Ken had to see this coming. The PS3 was overly priced, more or less had the same controller design and was padded up with a myriad of functionalities. The Nintendo Wii, on the other hand, was 4-5 times cheaper (USD 150 there abouts), had a cool motion sensitive controller and was simple. “You buy a console to play games, not watch DvDs”. Business 2.0 has good article on this.
Simplicity 1 Functionality 0
Bye bye Ken….
Hello Miyamoto…
Radioblogclub
Del.icio.us it!
I am quite impressed by France based radioblogclub’s muzic streaming services. Users can stream music directly from their site. They act as a middleman where other bloggers or folks who store their music online can link their muzic to radioblogclub’s site. Some sites even offer downloads from radioblogclub.
Ultimately for end users like me, I like the fact that the muzic streams so fast (with so-so quality) and once a song finishes, an automatic user generated playlist takes over.
But is this service legal? After all, aren’t they an aggregator of some kind?

Yes, it was me who typed in the now-so-quoted onelinr
“USER GENERATED CONTENT!! AGAIN”
I think the initial bug in the system caused it to repeat a number of times…or was it just me. I don’t know. But oh well…is this my claim to fame? ![]()
