Slideshare (more here) recently announced the results of their World’s Best Presentations competition. The judges of this competition were Guy Kawasaki, Bert Decker, Garr Reynolds and Jerry Weissman.

Here are the winners chosen by the judges:

  1. ShiftHappens by Jbrenman
  2. Meet Henry by Chereemoore
  3. Sustainable Food Lab by Chrislandry

Here are the winners chosen by the public:

  1. PaniPuri by Thakkar
  2. ShiftHappens by Jbrenman
  3. Meet Henry by Chereeemoore

We all have alot to learn from these top presentations. According to Guy Kawasaki,

The commonality you’ll see in these winners is big fonts, big graphics, and a “storytelling” orientation. These are three crucial qualities of a good presentation.

I have had several negative personal experiences with my presentations despite contrary feedback from my friends. I always seek to plant as much information as possible within minimal number of slides. And I hardly practice or pace myself before embarking on the verbal barrage. More often than not, these barrages usually ‘outcaptures’ the audience compared to my slides. I guess I have to watch and learn….and PREPARE for my Podcamp Europe session.
