Introducing the iCar….by Mercedes and Apple

Stumble it! Del.icio.us it!

OMG, Apple is venturing into cars now! It comes as no surprise to me as to who they chose as their partner. Mercedes has always been the industry leader by far when it comes to in-ride innovation. Their S class introduced the world to anti-lock brakes, airbags, electronic control and a partnership with Apple definitely looks beneficial to both sides. Mercedes stays ahead of the curve and Apple enters an extremely new market.

It would be interesting to see how Microsoft or Google reacts to this. Would they jump into partnerships with other car companies? Would they wait to see how this turns up before deciding anything? Do they have secret discussions with car companies already? Microsoft Surface as car seats? Google Maps as navigation systems?

NOW, I am definitely looking forward to the newer episodes of Top Gear.

  1. Okay, i didn’t know where to write on your blog as it didn’t have like a generic window to comment, or maybe it did, I couldn’t figure it out sorry…:)
Anyway, very random message here and I have never just wrote an e mail to a stranger before but kinda stumbled unto your blog from my regular subscription of Daily Candy and from there to Thoof ( I think ) then somehow ended up here.
Think your site is really cool, content wise, I guess but the colour and font can be worked on :)I have no idea about all the techy stuff you input here but some of them are written with a witt and style that even a non-techy person like me smiles after reading it. Like the hour by hour write up on the presentation of a talk you went for… nice one. Of course reading the possible collaboration of Apple and Mercedes grabbed my attention too. You should check out this site www.thecoolhunter.com I think you will like it.

  3. Yes I can imagine a small Mercedes with Apple computer equipment doing everything for the car including running the car with various computer systems designated to run the car, as well as provide entertainment. I hope it comes with a wi-fi radar to connect to local wi-fi when parked in various places.
