They’re great at doing PR and have somehow made everybody think that they will revolutionize the way we watch TV. But I’m convinced they won’t and there’s just one simple reason to that: they won’t replace any other platforms. I’m not saying they are not going to be successful, they definitely will be and they’ll also make a lot of money. They’ll probably even be sold, just like Skype (which was also thought to change EVERYTHING in the industry. Did it?) for a couple of billions. What I’m trying to say is that Joost is just another way to watch moving pictures as good as any other, and YouTube, SVT, CNN and SF-Anytime will not just die. It can’t satisfy all the needs of everybody, no service or technology can. I know I haven’t really explained what the idea of Fri TV is all about, but we will release info as it gets official.
