It’s been ages since I last blogged. My apologies. Academic work has been catching up on me.
As some of you might know by now, I am now in my final semester (final 1.5 w33ks actually!) in university and ready (not!) to face the real world with both fists clinched.
OK I will stop rambling about this for the moment. I want to bring Hej Varlden! 2008 to your attention. Friends at nuStart, Stockholm are organising this sometime in May. If you’re in the Stockholm area, do pop by to be with good company.

InteresThink is a non-profit organisation that aims to bring people and ideas from different disciplines and of different industries together. And they’re having this TED Talk like event this Saturday at the National Library Board. If you have not heard of TED Talks, you shouldn’t be surfing the internet. Kapish.
This event brings back alot of memories you know. Their blog reminds me of what we had for our Hej! 07 conference in Stockholm last year…
Anyways, a few of us would be attending this event, might be live blogging as well..haven’t done this in a long while. Their speaker and audience lists are quite diverse; they have filmmakers, authors, gay activists etc. I can daresay that this might be the first of a kind multi-disciplinary event in Singapore.
Have to admit I haven’t had the opportunity to immerse myself into events and whatnots as much as the previous year (s). Tied down with too many things…including wrapping up my final semester in uni. Hope to find the time these days .. . So yeah, if you have nothing to do this Saturday, head on down to The Pod, National Library Board @ Bugis for some eye-opening speeches and good company.

Facebook Developer Garages everywhere! There’s one coming up in Singapore, Sydney, Stockholm and Kuala Lumpur. Wouldn’t it be nice to have it all organised on the same day?

Heard the wireless internet connection at SIME 2007 is quite bad but that’s not going to stop Bernice from live blogging…check it out.

My friends over in Stockholm are organising Hubbub 2007 this November 24th at Nymble, KTH, Stockholm.
“Hubbub 2007 is an entrepreneurial seminar on Fixed-to-Mobile Convergence (FMC) that will bring together key players in innovative enterprises who are making fresh headways in the development of the Nordic FMC landscape.
With the rising penetration of broadband and innovative mobile applications, the infrastructure in which information is created and consumed is one that is continuously reshaped by disruptive internet and mobile technologies.”
So if you’re in Stockholm, do pop by for a visit. Hubbub is organised by the same folks who organised Hej! 2007 last April, so in other words, it should be fun. There is also a facebook group.

Not too long ago, Yujun and I took part in the first international Tata Crucible Business Quiz. Designed to challenge the best and the brightest, we thought, hey, might as well try our luck.
Around 159 two person teams from various universities took part (all three Singaporean universities, SIM, Australian and British universities etc). It turned out that we did pretty well in the prelims and ended up as one of the top 8 pairs. This meant we got to go up on stage for the final round which will be broadcasted in Channel News Asia. We performed quite badly in the finals, but in all honestly, our opponents from SMU and SIM were way superior. Yujun and I pocketed a cool iPod video nano, Nikon digital camera and a Titan watch each in the process.
Apart from this, friends Ramkumar and Adrian were also selected as the best 9th to 16th place finisher. All these teams were behind the 8th place team in the prelims by one point. Competition was that tough. Adrian managed to more-or-less save the 25 prelim questions here. Have a look at it and see how you fare. Yujun and I got 21 right.
